Public Relations Team

PUBLIC RELATIONS: make Young Life a household name in Lawrence.
  • DONOR EXPANSION CHAIR: This volunteer would pursue financial partners for Young Life Douglas County, serve as a resource to those who are making appointments and meeting with prospective donors by providing literature and helping schedule Rick or Molly into the appropriate meetings.
  • CHURCH RELATIONS: Thousands of churches give millions of dollars to Young Life annually. How many churches, if engaged, would give to support outreach to kids in Lawrence? Some areas have between 10 and 20 churches giving annually. We have two.
  • CORPORATE DONORS: Businesses in Lawrence give away hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity every year, and many would gladly give to Young Life if given the opportunity and information. This volunteer would design and implement a business plan to fund Young Life in Douglas County.
  • ADS AND PRESS RELEASES: We think having Young Life articles and pictures in the Journal-World, Lawrence Magazine and on the radio would be a good thing.
  • CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Join the Chamber of Commerce to represent Young Life to the community. Have Young Life kids do ribbon cuttings, have staff do meet and greet, etc. and get the YL name out in the community.

Finance Team

FINANCE: help Young Life raise and manage funds so that we may reach kids

  • TREASURER: A volunteer treasurer provides financial reports for the area, helps to  and ensures that donations to our local area are processed correctly.
  • FIELD DEVELOPMENT TOOL PERSON: The FDT is comprised of three online computer programs that interact with one another to create a document that accurately shows where areas are financially and where projects are going. The three sections are: Cash Flow, Priority Prospect List and the Financial Master Plan. We need a volunteer to be trained on these online programs, update them monthly, and help us know where our area are headed, financially.
